One of the sicknesses which contaminates European occult groups is what is known as the Evola Virus. Named after the extreme right wing occultist and favorite of Mussolini, Julius Evola of the same name, it is based on a fantasy that occultists will make the best world rulers. It actually reached its peak with the Synarchist movement in France, whose leaders included the anti-sematic martinist Papus at the turn of the 20th century and appears to have been a motivating factor in the Nazi collaboration government of Marshal Philippe Pétain's regime (1940-44). On paper these ideas look reasonable but in practise they are universally fascist, favour things like eugenics and the weeding out of races which are deemed inferior. Normally such types

THE MAGICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF TIME
This is not an attempt to mix science and magic. I have to admit my knowledge of scientific ideas connected to time are very limited. I tried reading Stephen Hawking once and was only able to finish it when I saw it as a magical book rather than a scientific text. As a result I would have missed a lot of what he was really trying to say. The magical tradition since the Neo-Platonists has started with the idea of a No-Thing – a divine being which is entirely without explanation and can only be defined by what it is not. Such a being was seen as infinite and totally above time (or duality). That is all very well, but there
Monty Python Does a Golden Dawn Debate
I could not resist. It is just a gag guys, but there are moments where the latest GD debate does sound a bit like this Dead Parrot The cast: PRALINE John Cleese SHOP OWNER Michael Palin The sketch: A customer enters a shop. Mr. Praline: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint. (The owner does not respond.) Mr. Praline: 'Ello, Miss? Owner: What do you mean "miss"? Mr. Praline: (pause)I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint! Owner: We're closin' for lunch. Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this Magical Order what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique. Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the Golden Dawn...What's,uh...What's wrong with it? Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it! Owner: No, no,
20 THINGS AN ADEPT NEVER DOES
There is a lot of nonsense distributed on the world wide wibble about what an Adept will and will not do. Unlike some people I do not think an Adept is a superman or woman but is someone who is most themselves. They also have to be good at the magic system they use. However, for a laugh I have composed a list of 20 things an Adept would not do. A ‘REAL’ Adept has NEVER: owned an iPhone or any device made by Apple: Buying an iPhone is submitting your true will to that of the Apple Cult... a strangely inverted world where good is bad, bendy is strong, and you claim that you get what you pay for when you clearly
Changes in the system
This started out as a reply to Perigrin’s Magic of the Ordinary blog, but it got a little too big. To understand what I am banging on about you should look at his blog here which appears to be an answer to my blog here and the subsequent debate on the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn group. Actually I am fairly conservative too… I do not want wholesale changes within the rituals, just an ironing out of trouble spots. MOAA has not changed its rituals in any way that most people would notice... yet. However I do not consider it a GD group but rather an off-shoot of Whare Ra. The overly conservative approach has one incredibly obvious flaw. It assumes

INITIATION HITS and MYTHS
In the 21st century people, have some odd views about what initiation is and what to expect from it. On one had you have those who have come through the masonic tradition who see initiation as something which enables them to get to the top of an organisation and have a bigger hat, or more ornate apron. Then you have those who see it as a pointless exercise which stands in the way of doing “real magic” which apparently involves going on imaginary journeys to talk to invisible friends. Others dumb down the whole process as being a psychological rite of passage, and others something which can be written off as any beginning you make in a tradition. Initiation did exist
THE RITE OF HELIOS MITHRAS
The purpose of this ritual is to attain a vision of your Higher Self in the form of the God of the Sun. It is based on the so called Liturgy of Mithras and it is a tricky ritual to do. It is a really ancient ritual (which is why some of it is a difficult read) and the original can be found here. I have placed it within a Golden Dawn ritual structure because I know that can produce the right level of purification and consecration required. You should prepare carefully for the ritual beforehand with a ritual bath. The ritual should be performed on a Sunday at noon. You should not do the ritual when the Sun in
Mathers’ Last Word on the Golden Dawn name

Sickos are not just in the GD… it seems the AA and Thelema has its share
I dont normally cross post, but this story got me cross.....It seems that the GD is not the only one to have leaders who are sicko... this guy apparently was cross that Don Kraig getting sick was interfering with his fundraising efforts. I dunno who he is but really he needs to be told that is unacceptable behavior from a human, http://watcherofthedawn.wordpress.com/2014/03/07/a-a-boss-revolting-rovelli-unleashes-his-inner-tosser/
